Where to hunt in 2020

As the years move on our crew is smaller and some traditions are lost yet some remain. We have had great memories throughout the years and want to keep those memories alive while creating new ones. Each year is new and exciting adventure, sometimes comical, yet always an experience we cherish. This coming year poses new issues, new laws, and uncertainties, but knowing my fellow hunters as I do, I know we will always prevail.

As we turn the century and move into 2020, I am excited to see what the future holds. We need to find new grounds, new lodging, and hopefully Deer!

Next we will have our first hunters meeting for 2020 to make some decisions as to the coming season.
I look forward to seeing the guys, making plans, discussing strategies and finishing out the extended season. Good luck to all and I look forward to your contributions to this site.

Best,
Tom

Hunting in Potter County this year!

After 4 or 5 years without success in Digman's Ferry, we decided to make a move and its a big one! We are headed to what they call "God's Country" Potter County PA. Cousin Jimmy found us a farm house on 100+ acres of land surrounded by 22,000 acres of State Forrest. We are all excited for this new venture. Stay tuned!

Hunting Season 2013 - 14!

This Sunday we head to Ding-mans Ferry to scout a new area we will be hunting. Since bear and deer season overlap, Greg and I have purchased our first ever Bear Tag. Look out smokey! I hope to have addition contributors to this blog ongoing. It has been a long time since I or any one has visited or posted. This is  a great way to journal fishing and hunting experiences. Please contribute. You know who you are. This year we will decide on our mobile hunting clubs name. I am open to suggestions.

Fishing Lake Ontario NY with Capt' Bob on the Trophy Nuts Charter. My Thomas had his first trip to Lake Ontario along with Dan and his son Ryan, Mike and his son Riley. Good trip, lots of laughs, food, a few beers and fishing. Weather was not the best and we were only able to fish one day on the boat. The first day after 30mph winds we had to turn it around. We did fish off the rock piles and caught a lot of blue gills, some bass and lots of other pan fish. Thomas lost 3 kings pulling those suckers in and ended up boating an nice brown. Ryan landed a monster King Salmon and we caught a few other browns. Hope this is the first of many for the young ones.

Hunting at Firedog Lodge Next Week!

Yes it is that time of year. Opening day of Deer Season. Break out the rifles fellas. This year we plan on exploring Tiadaghton State Forest in Lycoming County. This is the third largest forest in PA and has over 215,500 acres. We rented a cabin called Firedog Lodge. Jim, Ted and his son, myself and even Drew are making a run for it. We may have a few others dropping by as well. Should be interesting to try out a new area. Will keep you posted and good luck to all you hunters out there!!

Lake Ontario Fishing Trip 2010!!!

This year was a great success! We caught some good quality Brown's with some nice footballs thrown in. This trip consisted of 9 guys. Some newbies who fared pretty well I must say. The guide and outfitters had something to do with that. (eh hem). We had lots of food, booze, campfires, cigars and fun. Oh and fishing too. Shoreline fishing didn't produce much from Fair Haven, as usual but, Greg guided some of the guys up at the Oswego river and caught a good variety including a nice size fresh water drum. Go Drew!! We chartered "Trophy Nuts" with Captain Bob. Captain Bob did a fantastic job! This guy knows where the fish are. First day out was choppy with 5-6 ft swells so it was rough going yet we still pulled in a few fish. Second day was glass and they almost limited out. 3 cheers for Bob. Here is his site.

Cousin's Striper Fishing

Great day out on the water with the cousins. We sailed on the "Nev-R-Enuf" vessel scouring the seas for Striper out of Avalon NJ. To our dismay, the blues decided that they would rather be caught instead of stripers. 5 of us fishing catching over 30 blues despite having the jink along with us for the ride. Arm weary and rubber legged from rolling seas, all an all a great time!
And kids, always remember, Crack Kills!!!
