I took this 6 point 150lb buck last Tuesday afternoon around 5:30PM. He was standing at 8 paces under my tree stand and I never saw him coming under the tree branches. I was totally off guard... for about 3 seconds......

If anyone cares for venision let me know.

PS: CJ... your roast will be behind your door on Wednesday... LOL

FIRST BUCK TAKEN IN ARCHERY SEASON

Last Saturday evening I was joined by a friend that I had never hunted with. Good guy, Now part of our elite group and hopefully new contributor to this blog. Mike had helped me try and locate a doe I had hit. He was interested in having me show him around and point him in the right direction to hunt. I thought it best to set Mike up along a transition area between pine forest and hard woods. He was able to hunt for only a few hours last Saturday and proceeded to set up with his climber about 25 feet in the air! Crazy! I was set up about 150 yards from him on the edge of the woods. Within about 50 minutes he was able to rattle in a spike and a 7 point. The 7 point came right under his stand and he took aim. We ran out of light shortly after so we went in the next day with our boys and retrieved the buck. Congrats to Mike! Unfortunately, his season is over and he is very bummed. His entires season lasted less than 2 hours. See photo of our boys with the buck.
