Fishing - Lake Ontario

Well, fishing up at Lake Ontario didn't produce the Brown's we were looking for or the Northern Pike but did produce a great time.
Cousin Jimmy and friend Ted joined me at Fair Haven state park in a little cabin with no running water and only a fridge. All we needed. The setting was perfect backing up to the large pond fed from Lake Ontario. Ted decided to try his luck and expertise fishing for small mouth and every cast produced. Not long after, Jimmy and I joined in the fun. We enjoyed the purple sunset against the pond backdrop and plenty of wine and beer. The pepperoni and sharp cheese topped the list of favorites as well.
Blustery weather prohibited us from fishing the wall although Ted was willing to test the waters though briefly. We found a bait shop off the beaten path called Spanky's. I think we actually met spanky who gave us some advice on the local way to catch pike.
Of course we tried it.
Greg was up there the week before with roughly the same luck except for two fish from Timmy starting with his third cast!

Next year, bigger cabin, a few more guys, and oh yeah, pepperoni and cheese!

Comments:
Couldn't agree me with cousin Tom about our Lake Ontario hunt for brown trout and pike. Fishing was terrible but the trip was still a blast. Tom is following in his Dad Sal's footsteps as far as being a great fishing and hunting companion although he still needs to work a bit more on his cooking to catch up with Uncle Sal. That would be a real tough act to follow for anyone given Sal's expertise around the kitchen stove. Also got to meet Tom's friend Ted for the first time and share some good stories and a bottle of fine wine by the camp fire. Hopefully we can all do it all again next year and the fish will cooperate a bit more.
